When a person is diagnosed with diabetes he needs to make certain changes in his lifestyle. Accordingly diet needs to be modified so that the person is eating healthy without any drastic changes. It will help the individual to make healthy food choices .The individual can decide about the quantity of food that can be consumed and which food needs to be avoided to prevent hyperglycemia.
In a diabetes diet, it is recommended to have more of whole grain cereals and pulses and legumes preferably sprouted and vegetable oils. Have both raw and cooked vegetables and have fruits in moderation. Avoid banana and mango as the starch content in these fruits are high. Avoid fried and refined foods and too much drinking of alcohol.
