Diet Soda Diabetes

Diet soda is not at all beneficial. Just like any regular drink diet soda drinkers do have an increased risk towards developing heart diseases and diabetes. This condition is associated with the development of metabolic syndrome that is characterized by increased waist circumference, high blood pressure, deposition of fat in the waist and low levels of good cholesterol. Diet sodas can also be considered as one of the risk factors towards developing diabetes similar to sugar laden soda. These drinkers also are associated with the risk of developing high blood triglycerides and low good cholesterol or high density lipoprotein.

However the risk of developing these syndromes in diet or sugar laden soda are similar as it can be associated with diet pattern. People having sodas tend to have higher calories, sedentary lifestyle and no exercise. Thus the consumption of diet soda is not advisable in excess. However moderate consumption is possible as it does not lead to adverse effects.
