Height Increasing Tips

Along with heredity (considering your mom and dad are moderately heighted but your brother is taller) the length of the long bones is also to be considered. Once growth plate fusion happens in the long bones, which generally occurs between the ages of 18-21 for boys increasing your length becomes a difficult talk unless you follow a good balanced diet and follow some exercises. Keep in mind the following tips to increase your height –

  • Eat a well balanced diet emphasizing on calcium and protein. For this you can include fresh fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, milk and milk products, sesame seeds, fish and sprouts.
  • Stretch – stand against the wall and stretch your hand one at a time. At the same time also stretch your heels and be in this position for about 10-15 seconds. This exercise when done on regular basis would help to increase your few inches.
  • You can also sit and perform some stretching exercises – fold your legs and sit on the ground, now take both your hands and join then on top of your head, stretch as much as you can and remain in that position for 10-15 seconds.
  • Sleep well and maintain a good posture, if you tend to slouch then it would make your appearance short.
