Tips to Gain Weight

Weight gain is achieved by increasing the calorie intake. Care is essential in picking up the right foods. Junk foods are not recommended for weight gain, as they result in unnecessary complications, in addition to weight gain. Such foods contain saturated fats and Trans fats. Healthy fats, such as omega 3 fatty acids present in salmon, soya, walnuts, flax and tuna are helpful.

Nutritional supplements and protein powders are commercially available. Please refer your nutritionist, before opting for such things. Small and frequent meals are better than three large meals. Make your breakfast healthy with a handful of nuts. Chicken nuggets, French fries, potato chips and fish sticks are better avoided. A healthy diet with ample vegetables and fruits with good proteins are useful. Sodas and carbonated beverages are substituted by fruit juices and healthy beverages.

Starchy vegetables contribute to calories, whereas other vegetables and greens provide with antioxidants and phyto nutrients. Fish, low fat meat, legumes and chicken are essential. Dried fruits and healthy nuts are essential part of the diet, as snacks. Milkshakes and puddings also prove beneficial. Visit your diet consultant for further help.
