Diet for Nursing Mother to Lose Weight

Hi! Welcome to the mother family! You are slightly above the ideal body weight range. You need to lose around 5 kg. A woman goes back to her original weight within six weeks of delivery. It is a natural recovery process. A balanced diet helps in regaining your original weight. Drinking lots of water also helps in removing the waste and metabolites. Research reveals the association between the increased time to reduce and breast feeding. This is due to the fact that the body tends to store more during lactation period. Long term breast feeding increases the weight loss, though.

Exercising helps in reducing the excess weight. Start exercising, after complete recovery. Swimming is a good form of exercise to reduce weight, as it works the whole body and is a wholesome exercise. Small walks can begin, from the time you are back home. This is especially in cases, devoid of complications. Walking, chasing the toddler or the baby are also exercises. Long distance walking, jogging and cycling are done in a gradual manner.

Aerobics help to a great extent, as they are more easily performed, staying at home. Yoga is another form of help in weight loss. Curb your intake. Choose foods based on their calorie content. A wholesome and balanced diet with whole grains, pulses, legumes, vegetables, fruits, milk and related foods and fats are recommended, as the milk provides the essential nutrients to the child.
