I suffer from migraine once a month right after my period it lasts 2 days. I've tried taking all sorts of medication to relieve from the pain, but nothing works. Do you recommend anything for that pain and how can I stop

Alternative Treatment for Menstrual Migraines

A kind of gripping headache, which occurs in certain patterns is referred to as migraine. Head injuries, tumours and stroke attacks are the common causes for migraine. It recurs, as it is associated with vascular headache. The signs and symptoms vary between individuals. An increased frequency of migraine is seen after and prior to menses. This is referred to as true menstrual migraine. This is attributed to the drop in the oestrogen levels that are associated with menstruation. It is a trigger that should be controlled. Yours might be due to psychological stress. Migraine is treated by drugs, controlling the symptoms and by avoidance of the substance that triggers headache.

Certain home remedies also prove beneficial in getting rid of the same. Supplementation of niacin is effective. Natural sources of niacin are tomatoes, fish, nuts, yeast, green vegetables and liver. Vegetable juices are helpful. Beet in combination with cucumber juice and spinach in combination with carrot juice are effective against migraine. A few leaves of cabbage are crushed and used as a poultice and tied on the forehead with a cloth. A small dose of grape juice is helpful. Depression and irritability, associated with the menstrual cycle might also contribute to migraine. Visit your gynaecologist for further help.
