There is no reason to lose weight at 55kgs at a height of 5 feet 2 inches. You are perfectly placed in the correct weight bracket. A height of 5 feet 2 inches must have the weight between 45 to 55 kgs. However you could do well to tone up your body and your muscles and stay fit with incorporating a healthy diet and some exercise. Do not attempt in opting for crash diets or sporadic exercise. If you haven't exercised in a while, then it is prudent not to rush into heavy or intensive exercise right away as that could lead to fitness injuries as well as leaving you disoriented and with a lack of motivation. The same goes for a diet, do not severely restrict yourself on the amount of calories or the type of foods that you must or mustn't consume. Gradually introduce changes in your diet as well as exercise as little changes can make a huge difference in the long run. Use healthy substitutes such as low fat dairy or skimmed milk products in place of full fat milk either at breakfast or in any of your dairy needs. Introduce your body to increasing amounts of exercise in a slow manner. While activity sports or games such as swimming, cycling, jogging or aerobics can help to burn calories faster, weight training will help you to shape and tone your muscles. Try using the stairs instead of using the lift as every extra step that you take only increases your stamina and endurance levels.

Most people in an attempt to lose weight faster tend to skip on breakfast which in itself is a very wrong thing to do. Skipping breakfast or any meals will no doubt reduce the calorie intake for that moment, but will need you much hungrier and the temptation to binge will be higher. You'll be likely to over eat, and most people often make bad choices when filling in the gap. It is better to go in for a bowl of healthy cereal rather than to reach out for a cereal bar. Skipping meals can lead to irregular eating habits which are likely to disrupt the body's metabolism.

One of the good signs if that you're well within the bracket of a healthy body weight range. This means that you do not have to go to an extra effort of shedding any more weight at this may cause a hindrance in body functions. Toning up your body instead will yield beneficial results by increasing your endurance levels while looking and feeling fitter.
