Wine Carbohydrates

Alcoholic beverages contribute to empty calories by the amount of calories and carbohydrates, they provide. They fail to provide any other nutrients. The main source of calories in wine is not its carbohydrates, but the amount of alcohol present. Fifteen per cent of volume of certain wine is alcohol. Increased volume of alcohol in the wine is proportional to the calories in the glass of wine.

0.8 grams of dry white wine- 77 calories
0.5 grams of dry red wine- 83 calories
1.6 grams of sparkling white wine - 92 calories
6.8 grams of sweet white wine- 103 calories

Certain wines advertise as heart friendly on their labels. But, many remain vague and are not approved. The carbohydrates fail to provide any kind of help. No relevant information is available.
