Weight Training with Aerobics 

Aerobic exercises help an individual lead a healthy and productive life. It is used in weight loss wherein the heart and metabolic rate is increased by spreading the moderate levels of energy for longer period of time so that the fat is triggered for production of energy. During aerobic exercise, the glycogen stores in the muscles are broken            down .Once the glycogen stores are over the fat reserves in the body are used thus leading to weight loss. This type of exercise requires body stamina and not muscle strength. These are exercises that involve or improve the oxygen consumption of the body. It is use of oxygen in the metabolic or energy generating process.

For better results, it is necessary to do a warm up followed by moderate to intense exercises and finally cooling down in the end. If aerobic exercises are combines with strength training is optimal for muscle and bone development and weight loss.

Long distance running and jogging, swimming, bicycling, singles tennis played in continuous pattern are some of the aerobic exercises. Aerobic exercises are such that it is performed at moderate level of intensity for a longer period of time.

Some of the benefits of aerobic exercises are:

  • These exercises can increase the maximal oxygen consumption
  • It can improve the cardiovascular and respiratory functioning thus increasing the cardiac output and stroke volume. It can reduce the workload on heart.
  • It can increase the amount of HDL cholesterol or good cholesterol.
  • It can reduce blood triglycerides.
  • It is essential for improving the glucose tolerance and thus can reduce the insulin resistance.
  • It is necessary for reducing the heart rate and blood pressure.
  • It is essential for improving the blood supply and oxygen supply to the muscles.
  • It can tone muscles throughout the body.
  • It is necessary for increasing the number of red blood cells thus facilitating the transport of oxygen.
  • It can improve the mental health thus reducing stress.
