Excessive Weight Gain Causes and Treatment

Excessive weight gain can occur when the person has excess of body fat in proportion to the height and activity. A person can be obese if his weight is more than 20% of his ideal body weight. His intake of calories tends to be more than his output leading to accumulation of fat stores in the body. His body cells not only increase in size but also in number.

If the weight is gained excessively then the person may be prone to various disorders like high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, gout, and liver disorders. There are various reasons for excessive weight gain. These are faulty lifestyle with overconsumption  of  fast  foods and junk foods and no exercise, intake of luxurious foods like fried foods, sweets, chocolates and candies, stress, hormonal disorders like imbalance in the ratio of estrogen and progesterone and androgens, genetic factors, depression leading to excessive consumption of foods for satisfaction.

Certain remedies that can be useful in reducing body fat are available. Jujube or Indian plum aid in reducing excessive fat. Soak jujube in water overnight. Drink this water early in the morning.A healthier lifestyle with addition of nutritious foods; regular exercise and meditation are helpful. Avoid outside foods preferably. Avoid high density foods like ice creams, pastries and cake as they are fattening.
