Follow these guidelines for gaining weight – - Gradually increase your whole day’s caloric intake. Have small meals at frequent intervals (have at least 6 meals in a day).
- Start your breakfast with a bowl of whole cereals and milk. Add some nuts or dry fruits like raisins, cashew nuts, almonds, dried figs or pistachio nuts in it.
- Consume energy dense foods such as mango milkshake, banana milkshake, nuts (soaked almonds, groundnuts, walnuts, cashew nuts or any others according to your choice).
- Consume dry fruits like figs, dates and raisins 4-5 number in a day.
- Avoid consuming water before meals.
- Your major meals can include whole cereal wheat tortilla or bread along with a serving of chicken, fish or lean meat or pulses and yoghurt. Try to include at least a serving of vegetable and sprouts in a day’s meal.
- Exercise to increase the muscle mass and also to increase your appetite.
