Cervical Cancer Symptoms

Cervical cancer symptoms often mimic the symptoms of many other ailments thus many times they often remain unnoticed.

Many women commonly experience these symptoms during ovulation and as premenstrual symptoms. However most of the time women may not experience any early symptoms of cervical cancer. Appearances of symptoms vary from women to women but commonly symptoms appear only when the cancer has reached an advanced stage.

Rarely a woman may experience early symptoms for cervical cancer.

Abnormal vaginal bleeding - A woman may experience heavy or light bleeding especially between periods, after intercourse, after douching, during pelvic exam and after menopause. This symptom for cervical cancer can be due to irritation of the cervix during these activities.
Heavy unusual vaginal discharge - A women may experience an increased vaginal discharge which is often watery, thick, foul smelling or contains mucus.

This is one of the marked signs of cervical cancer, especially the foul smell.
Pelvic pain - A pain which is not related to menstrual cycle pain or a premenstrual pain can be a cervical cancer symptom. Depending on stage of the cancer the pain can range from a dull pain to sharp aches that can last for hours. The pain can be mild or severe in nature.
Pain while urinating - Pain during urination or bladder pain can be an advanced symptom for cervical cancer. This symptom for cervical cancer often strikes when cancer has already spread to the bladder.

Cervical cancer signs or cervical cancer evolve very slowly, usually over a period of several years after the cells present on the surface of the cervix changes from normal to cancerous ones. The mentioned symptons of cervical cancer are also signs of many other conditions, so if you experience any signs and symptoms of cervical cancer then consult a specialist immediately. A specialist is likely to perform a pap test to examine the pelvic region, if in doubt can carry out other tests to confirm his or her finding. Once the diagnosis is confirmed take an active part in treating your condition, ask the specialists - what are the symptoms of cervical cancer and try to relate them with your symptoms.

It is important to identify the cervical cancer symptons as the disease usually doesn’t show any major signs at an early stage. To prevent any further progression of the disease report an unusual symptom to a specialist for immediate diagnosis and treatment.
