Foods for Heart attacks under 30 years of age:

My husband is 29 year old & his weight is 65kg last week he got mild attack So suggest me the food habits for him.

The weight is normal, if your husband is around 5 feet and 5 inches.  Nutrition and exercise are essential in the treatment of all kinds of heart diseases. Heart attack is always linked to certain conditions, such as obesity, high blood pressure. The presence of these other complications is also not mentioned in your query. High cholesterol levels are also associated with heart attack. Are your husband's cholesterol levels high? A cardiac diet or heart friendly diet is helpful for individuals who suffer from heart attack.




A healthy and balanced diet plays a primary role in such individuals. The other objective of treatment is to prevent further attacks. Dietary fiber is important in the reduction of cholesterol levels. Bile helps in the breakdown of fat from the diet. Excessive bile is eliminated by the dietary soluble fiber, thereby reducing the bile levels.



In case of scarcity, blood cholesterol is converted to bile, thereby reducing the blood cholesterol levels. Decreasing soluble fiber in the diet prevents the above said process. Soluble fiber is present as pectin in apple, guava and so on. Other foods that provide soluble fiber are barley, flax seed, vegetables, fruits, legumes, dried peas, oats, barley, oat meal and nuts.

Animal foods such as fish and fish oil prove cardiac friendly, due to the high concentration of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fats decrease the risk of death, especially after a heart attack. It reduces the blood pressure, LDL cholesterol levels and triglyceride levels. Excessive intake of saturated fats increases the risk of narrowing of the arterial lumen, thereby increasing the risk of further attacks. Unsaturated fats are taken in a restricted manner. Vegetable oils are a better option. Sodium in the diet increases the risk of hypertension. Curb the levels of sodium in the food. Fresh vegetables and raw fruits provide arrays of antioxidants and phytonutrients, in addition to minerals and vitamins. These antioxidants act as free radical scavengers, thereby decreasing the risk of other complications.

Avoid or manage stress.



Abstain from alcohol consumption. Smoking is also not allowed. Whole grains, legumes and pulses provide complex carbohydrate. Deskinned poultry, egg white and lean meat provide the necessary protein. Red meat and skin of the poultry has marbled fat, which is not recommended. Adequate amount of exercise is also helpful, based on your husband’s condition.
