Gout

This condition is very painful but happily not common.

Cut down wine and beer and foods rich in nucleo-proteins such as anchovies or sardines. A vegetarian diet is the best.

Whisky is not conducive to gout so a drink is permissible.
The juice of choice is:
French or string beans 5 II oz (150ml) a day.

Haemorrhoids (Piles)

These arise following pregnancy or through straining at the toilet. A diet rich in cereal fibre (bran) nearly always prevents piles from begin¬ning and is essential for their relief. Sitting on radiators has not been proven as a cause.
Always check the diagnosis with your physician.

Juices that help include:

Nettle I tablespoonful (l5ml) three times a day.
Potato 8 fl oz (225ml); watercress 8 fl oz (225m\) ..

Turnip tops 4 II oz (100ml); watercress 4 fl oz (100m I); spinach
4 fl oz (100ml); carrot 4 fl oz (l00 ml).
