Most popular fad diets (atkins diet, zone diet, cabbage soup diet, south beach diet the list can go on and on) often promise quick weight loss, but it is important to understand that the weight loss that they promise generally come from loss of water from the body and not the actual fat loss. As a result the lost weight is gained back in no time after the normal routine of the person is started. Besides this one can also suffer form nutritional deficiencies as most of these emphasize on eating a particular food for good and no single food can supply all the essential nutrients required by the body.
