Dietary Advice for Weight Gain

- Increase your number of meals to four or five, instead of three. This helps in also increasing the calorie intake. An intake increase by around 1000 calories per day increases weight by half a kilo in a week.
- Choose the right foods to gain weight. Avoid French fries and junk foods which are loaded with saturated and Trans fats.
- Milkshakes, muffins, yoghurt, cheese sticks and dried fruits are helpful in weight gain, as they are calorie dense.
- Dumb bells, parallel dips and barbell rows are some exercises which helps you in gaining muscle mass.
- Include fish, chicken and lean meat in your diet and decrease the content of bread and others. Eggs are a good addition with vegetables and fruits.
- Increase the intake of milk and milk related foods. Adequate amount of water is essential to flush off the toxic metabolites.
- Whole grains, legumes and pulses in the diet prove beneficial.
